Please read this Terms of Service Agreement (“Agreement”) carefully before using Bartec Auto ID software applications, connected tools, cloud platforms, or related services (collectively, the “Software and Services”).
This Agreement is a legal agreement between you and Bartec Auto ID Ltd (“Bartec”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and governs your use of the Software and Services.
By creating an account, registering a product, or using the Software and Services, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
This Agreement also incorporates our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Data Processing Addendum, which explain how data is handled when using our products and services.
If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the Software and Services.
The Software and Services are licensed, not sold, to you by Bartec Auto ID Ltd for use strictly in accordance with this Agreement.
Physical products may be supplied by authorised distributors or affiliated companies operating within your region. Purchases of physical products are subject to the applicable sales terms of the supplying entity.
Bartec Software and Services are designed primarily for use by professional mechanics, garages, distributors, and other business customers.
Most data generated through use of the Software and Services relates to tools, vehicles, and business operations rather than individuals.
Where personal data is processed (for example account contact details), this is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Bartec tools and hardware devices may be sold to customers. However, any embedded software, firmware, connectivity features, and associated digital services are licensed, not sold, and remain subject to this Agreement.
Bartec Auto ID Limited (“Licensor”) grants the Licensee a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited licence to access and use the Software and Services strictly in accordance with this Agreement.
The Licensee agrees not to, and will not permit others to:
The Software and Services, including all intellectual property rights, remain the sole property of the Licensor.
Ownership of any physical tools does not transfer ownership of embedded software or digital services.
Any feedback, comments, or suggestions provided by users may be used by the Licensor without restriction or compensation.
The Licensor may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Software and Services where necessary for operational, security, legal, or product improvement reasons.
Updates form part of the Software and Services and remain subject to this Agreement.
Certain authorised partners — including distributors, garage networks, resellers, cloud providers, and support providers — may access limited service data where necessary to support:
These partners are contractually required to protect data and may use it only for operational purposes.
Personalised analytics, recommendations, or marketing by any third party is permitted only where the Data Subject has provided explicit consent directly for that purpose. Bartec consent indicators cannot be relied upon by third parties as permission for marketing or behavioural analytics.
The Licensor collects technical, operational, and optional usage data as described in the Privacy Policy. This may include:
Optional analytics are processed only where consent is provided.
Anonymous or aggregated data may be used to improve reliability and performance.
Garages and business customers act as Data Controllers for customer data they enter into the Software and Services.

By accepting this Agreement, the Licensee acknowledges that personal data may be processed in accordance with Bartec’s Data Processing Addendum.
Sub-processors and authorised partners must respect consent metadata and may not use data for marketing or behavioural analytics without explicit consent.
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated.
Upon termination, the Licensee must cease use of the Software and Services. Termination does not affect accrued rights or obligations.
The Licensee agrees to indemnify the Licensor against claims arising from:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software and Services are provided “as available”.
Bartec aims to provide reliable and secure systems but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with all third-party environments.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Licensor shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant Software or Services.
If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver.
Bartec may update this Agreement where necessary. Material changes will be notified.
Continued use of the Software and Services constitutes acceptance.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
Users in other jurisdictions retain rights that cannot be excluded under local law.
